Activated Carbon Pellets
Pellets activated carbon, also known as pelletized or extruded activated carbon, is a cylindrical carbon media used in gas phase adsorption systems where low pressure drop, mechanical strength, and stable flow characteristics are critical. SorbiTech™ Group is a manufacturer and supplier of pelletized activated carbon engineered for air purification, gas phase adsorption, and industrial odor control applications across the Middle East & globally.
How Pellet Activated Carbon Works and Why It Is Selected

Pellet activated carbon works through adsorption, a surface based process in which gaseous contaminants are captured within the internal pore structure of the carbon. In gas phase systems, air or process gas passes through a packed bed of pellets, allowing VOCs, odors, and other impurities to migrate into the pore network and attach to the internal surface. The uniform cylindrical shape supports controlled flow through the bed while maintaining practical contact time for adsorption.
Pelletized activated carbon is selected where gas phase performance must be combined with mechanical durability. Extruded activated carbon is suitable for gas phase applications where the media may experience pressure or wear, and offers low pressure drop, high mechanical strength, and uniform structure. It is also suitable for VOC removal, pollution control, and environmental applications, and as a base adsorbent for impregnated activated carbon used in sulfur removal and mercury guard bed duties.
